Bears in Trees

etix Bears 482671719905952

This Event is All Ages  The Croydon, south London quartet distill folk-punk, emo, and indie pop to create perky, lyrical, agreeable songs exploring themes of hope, friendship, change, and personal challenge. Vocalists Iain Gillespie and Callum Litchfield were childhood friends who went on to play in the November Criminals with Nick Peters. When that act dissolved, the trio opted to form a new group in 2014, naming it Bears in Trees after a random name generator served up “Bears in Submarines” which they deemed too lengthy a moniker. On meeting George Berry at music college, Litchfield asked him to assist with producing the band’s earliest material. Berry’s significant contribution to these sessions led to him becoming Bears in Trees’ permanent drummer. As the bandmembers settled into their roles, trained flutist Litchfield focused on the ukelele and piano, while bassist Gillespie and guitarist Peters composed lyrics. This Event is 21 and Up Boasting an unapologetic southern-fried twang, with a clang and harmony that is unmistakably the inimitable sound and feel of the Black Lips. Their songcraft and stylistic evolution are as infamous as their now legendary live shows. Last year the quintet saw the release of 2020’s Sing In A World That’s Falling Apart via Fire Records.  Resulting in their grimiest, most dangerous, and best collection of songs since the aughts. Weregoat

etix Weregoat 482631719905946

This Event is All Ages    WEREGOAT is a black/death metal band originating from Portland, Oregon. Revered as one of the cultest names in the modern bestial metal scene, since their formation in 2009, WEREGOAT have become the penultimate extreme of total and utter BESTIAL fucking METAL: literally, sonic bestiality incarnate. Their Parasitic-released Unholy Exaltation of Fullmoon Perversity 12″ introduced them in 2011 with a nuclear-powered bang, showing obeisance to the ancient ways but brimming with a disgusting ‘n’ debaucherous personality, and the IRON BONEHEAD-released Slave Bitch to the Black Ram Master 12″ in 2013 upped the extremity stakes even further. Alas, now arrives what will be the most gutted ‘n’ godless WEREGOAT statement yet: Pestilential Rites of Infernal Fornication. Girl Ultra

etix Girl 482751719905964

This Event is All Ages   As the buttery-voiced songwriter Girl Ultra, Mexico City’s Mariana “Nan” de Miguel sings lush, tender, R&B steeped in sensuality and caressed by slippery Latin, hip-hop, and jazz beats. As part of the Finesse Records talent roster, she collaborated with other artists on the FR label and made a name for herself in CDMX’s Boiler Room scene with her covers of tracks by Drake, the Weeknd, and Daniel Caesar. She gained greater attention, however, with her own songs including “Abril,” “Duele,” and “Ella Tu y Yo.” Her 2017 Boys EP established her Latinx-, R&B-drenched grooves internationally while 2018’s Adios EP netted not only magazine articles and cover stories but auspicious entries on streaming and video charts — 2019’s “Dame Love” (featuring Cuco) netted over a-million-and-a-half views during its first two weeks and led the way for the streaming chart success of the lengthy Nuevos Aires. The following year, “Ojos Negro,” a duet with Paula Cendejas, hit the upper rungs of the Spanish charts. In 2021, Girl Ultra was a featured collaborator on Niia’s “If I Should Die.”   Listed ticket price is inclusive of all online fees. All sales are final, please review before purchasing. No Refunds.
