Mason Jennings
This Event is All Ages Minneapolis songwriter Mason Jennings shares his new video for the single, “Only Lovers Welcome” from his brand new album, Underneath The Roses out now via Loosegroove Records. Underneath The Roses is available on limited-edition colored vinyl and is available here. Watch and share the video for “Only Lovers Welcome” here. Jennings writes that the songs from Underneath The Roses were, “Written in an unprecedented burst,” following the birth of his son, Western, in March 2022. Jennings explains, “I hadn’t written any songs in about a year. I had been dealing with the psychological aftereffects of the pandemic as well as the loss of my dad. So, when Western was born, I didn’t expect to be writing much. But immediately he was responding to music in a very intense way. For this album, between May and November 2022, I wrote 48 songs! They certainly uplifted me and connected me with the creative spirit, and spirit in general, again. They cover all kinds of ground but, when I listen back, I think the central theme is overcoming fear with love.” Listed ticket price is inclusive of all online fees. All sales are final, please review before purchasing. Blues & Bourbon: John Primer/Bob Corritore All Star Blues Band
This Event is All Ages “Both men are modern day legends who have invested their lives into playing take-no-mess Chicago blues that honor the lives of blues giants from decades past while also breathing new life into this important American cultural institution.” – – Mike O’Cull, Muck Rack It’s getting increasingly harder to hear traditional, real deal blues these days, but fortunately lifelong blues purists, John Primer and Bob Corritore bring us their fourth collaborative effort with Crawlin’ Kingsnake. Blues Hall of Famer Primer, fresh off his recent Grammy nomination for Tears for Magic Slim, continues to tour relentlessly with his Real Deal Blues Band and along with Lurrie Bell and Billy Flynn, is one of the few remaining traditional Chicago blues guitarists. Primer has the pedigree too; having played with Muddy until his death in 1983, preceded by Willie Dixon and followed by a long stint with Magic Slim. Corritore wears many hats. He grew up in Chicago but has lived in Phoenix for three decades now. He is the proprietor of that city’s most famous blues club, The Rhythm Room. As such, he jams and collaborates with many blues artists. You’ll find Bob’s name on multiple albums because he is one of the top traditional harp players and maybe even more importantly, because he has no problem leaving his ego at the door. Corritore’s acclaimed releases have been nominated or winners of major blues awards. He is also a record producer, radio show host, arts foundation founder, and occasional writer. Terror
This Event is All Ages LA based powerhouse Terror have always been a name synonymous with hardcore. From their inception in 2002, the band have displayed a level of steadfast dedication unlike any other in the scene. Now with six studio albums, a series of live albums, splits, compilations and EP’s under their belts, the scene veterans are gearing up to release their latest full length ‘Total Retaliation’. The new album which is penned for a September 28th release date features Fit For An Autopsy’s Will Putney (Thy Art Is Murder, Body Count, Knocked Loose) in the producers chair and is the band’s first new material since last years ‘The Walls Will Fall’ EP. Clocking in at just under 30 minutes, ‘Total Retaliation’ is a succinct yet intense message of resistance within a world that can inspire little else. It’s a helping hand for the disillusioned and a firm middle finger to the authorities that are tearing apart society as we know it. As the band’s seventh full length studio album it serves as yet another example of why Terror have not only endured but remained at the top of their game for over 15 years. The Dirty Nil
This Event is All Ages If there’s one rule people should follow when approaching the Dirty Nil, it’s this: Never tell them how to rock ‘n’ roll. Ontario’s Juno Award-winning trio is a finely tuned rock machine that is at its best when the members are pursuing their penchant for thrashy riffs, bashed out drums, and levels-to-the-max volume. And on their fourth album, Free Rein to Passions, the band followed their instincts down to the note to produce their most authentic work to date. Cursive
This Event is All Ages Very few bands manage to last decades, and for the ones that do, it’s often easy to settle down and get a little too comfortable. But there’s nothing comfortable about Devourer, the explosive new album from Cursive. The iconic Omaha group is known for their intensity, ambition, and execution, and has spent 30 years creating a bold discography that’s defined as much by its cathartic sound as its weighty, challenging lyrical themes. And Devourer is as daring as ever. Full of intense and incisive songs, the album proves exactly why Cursive have been so influential and enduring–and why they remain so vital today.
